I started really liking the 'Cutey Baby' That's A Wrap Cloth Diapers. I went to the website, watched THEIR review (my mistake, not a customers review, the manufacturer review) But I LOVED them. And the first thing that sold me were the prints. Every mom loves an adorable print on their baby's lil butt. However, that is just a big selling technique I came to find. Here's what I learned after my first try, and then 3 other times trying, to see if I could MAKE cutey Baby work for me since I loved the prints.
Kent seemed to fit pretty well into the diaper. But I came to find that the elastic leg band fit right, but it leaked BAD! He pooped not even 5 minutes into wearing the diaper I had put on him and it leaked right through the sides. It Soaked through the inside soaker pad, through the diaper, out the waistband, and through the side of what was supposed to be a waterproof outer layer. And this wasn't diarrhea. He's only 4 months old so it isn't 100% solid poop yet, but it wasn't runny like diarrhea. His poop for his age group just couldn't hold.
Inside of Diaper- Whole to insert soaker pad (as shown), elastic band on side (scrunchy look)
Both Pee and poop diapers leaked through soaker pad, waterproof outerlayer, and Kent's clothes.
BELOW (soaker pad- sewn at ends, 2 layers thick)
It is not a pocket diaper like most other Cloth Diapers out there offer. But it did surprise me that the soaker pad did not scrunch up to one end, especially when he was laying in his belly. But even though that didn't happen, leaking through made me forget about that.
Even though I attempted and it had failed twice, I tried it one night anyway. It didn't hold at all. Big mess. Overnight does not work for Cutey Baby That's A Wrap diapers.
Overall, here is what I came to find:
Pro's:
- ADORABLE prints are available that many other brands do not offer.
- The Soaker Pads are double layered and work nice (for me in other brands of cloth diapers).
- Velcro on regular Cutey Baby's (Not 'That's A Wrap') detach for easy washing.
- For it not being a pocket diaper, the soaker pad doesn't scrunch up to one end like I thought it would.
Con's:
- Waterproof outer layer leaks. (Pee and Poop both do not hold well)
- Velcro on That's A Wrap Diapers do NOT detach and causes a a diaper string in the wash.
- Velcro is the only closing offered, no snaps or any other kind, which is easily detached by babies of any grasping age.
- Overnight does not hold. (Barely holds for an hour with a medium pee-er)
- Bulkier than other brands
That's how they worked for me. Needless to say Cutey Baby didn't quite win me over.
