godly parental authorities

lately god has been doing some crazy things on my heart. as a mother we put our child first but we cannot let that get in the way of our relationship with God. God wants us to forsake  everything. and dare i say it but our  children as well. god asked us to give him all but never said he would never repay our desires.
God finally blessed abraham with a son named isaac. them god told him to sacrifice isaac to him. just before the sword pierced isaac god told abraham to stop. he was testing to be sure isaac did not become an idol before god to Abraham.
i needed to learn to place my priorities straight and remember god gave me my son.
cuts deep.

My- ONE C.P.R (Christ Powered Revival)

Tonight I got a major revival.
I watched a video called KONY 2012, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND WATCHING IT!!!! I know it is long, but I promise. It.Is.Worth it.

It made me realize...we complain about the world ALL the time, but when do we DO anything about it? we sit on our couches having coffee with friends and we talk about the crap out there, and that is where it ends. the couch. We don't make 1 phone call. 1 donation. 1...anything.

Well I am sick of not doing 1 thing! I want to be the change that I want to see in the world. It probably will not happen any other way!! No more complaining about the crap int he world. I'm gonna flush the dang crap in the world! Starting with this: My personal challenge.

Anyone and Everyone is welcome to join in! I'm calling it : ONE CPR  (one Christ powered revival)

Everyday I will do ONE thing that shows Christs glory through me. Whether that is a donation to a charity, being a  good samaratin, or cooking a meal for a family or helping at a soup kitchen. It can be as big as anything you can imagine like...flying to The Dominican Republic to help rebuild schools or hospitals, or as small as helping a child tie his shoes so he doesn't trip on the playground.

I will write down the day and what I did. Perhaps even take a picture with the person I helped or the meal I cooked, just to prove I did it and to remember the difference you made.

Think about it. within a year you would have done 365 things to help change the world. When before you did nothing. THAT is a significant accomplishment.

If you do decide to join in on ONE CPR let me know! I would love to hear what you are doing and see any pictures you take! Who knows...if this catches on maybe I will make something larger out of it. For now it is a personal thing I want to do and perhaps one day turn it into something larger :)

Taking a Stand

Tonight I realized the Teen moms out there get a VERY bad rep and someone needs to take a moment and stand up on their behalf.

YES! I agree completely that everything is sin that was done to come to the point of becoming pregnant outside of marriage as a single teen mom. However, who are you to judge her?

Is God not the ultimate Judge of all of us? You will be judged just as much as she will be when the day comes. God says that NO sin is greater than another. That means if you have cheated on a test, if you are married and looked at another man/woman in a way that was not faithful to your husband, or if you took something without asking aka stealing, your sin is just as great as sex before marriage.

When the woman that was caught in the MIDDLE of adultery was brought naked in front of the whole town to Jesus' feet and the men said "Jesus, the law commands us to stone this woman." Jesus replies "May the man who has no sin himself cast the first stone" and slowly everyone left. No one is perfect, everyone makes mistakes. And that day I believe after Jesus looked at her and said "Go and sin no more" that she did JUST that, and repented with all that she had in her! For Jesus was the sinless one and he had THAT much Mercy on her!! I would be so thankful I would be at his feet crying! Let me tell you something...HE HAS DONE THAT! Because I have repented of my sin and given my ENTIRE situation to him, he has set me free and let my situation be a help to MANY others!!!

I am able to talk with girls who have found themselves in the same situation I was in. A prophecy was made over my church that because I chose life and not death (Abortion) there would be life in the church (many women were having trouble conceiving). 14 people became pregnant in my church! Some of them were told that they would never be able to conceive! God can take ANY situation and turn it around for the better if you let him! and I let him! And he is blessing me and my son and our life together because of that!

The next time you see a teen mom, don't immediately judge her and label her a slut in your mind. She may not be the person you are stereotyping her to be. Have Mercy on her. forgive her for God has forgiven her. GOd has us here on the Earth to praise HIM and to tell people about HIM. Are you showing God's glory by being quick to judge? Especially is you are being quick to judge and stereotyping them all together?
Let God do his job and be the Ultimate Judge. But also let him do what he does best- Love. Follow his lead and Love those who are hurting. embrace them with open arms. Take it from someone who is there...that's all she wants. Someone to say "You are loved" "You will be okay" "Life is not over" "This is a new beginning" "God will bless you with great plans for you and your baby's life, IF you let him"

Many of these girls are simply hurting. Love them.
For God Loves them.

The Pretty Committee

Girls of all ages, from 5-35, have problems now a days with "looks". You need the right clothes, the right hair style, the prettiest makeup, or the best body. Perfection. Politically correct beauty.

I'm posting today to tell you I don't believe in it. I once did, and I tried to be that perfection that doesn't even exist. NO ONE IS PERFECT! Anyone can try to be, but No one will ever achieve it.

Beauty comes from within, it has been said so much. but the girls who don't believe they are pretty becasue they are nice people but not skinny, have the prefect "look" about them, or "hot" feel like it's just a way for them to feel ok about themselves.

Beauty doesn't mean skinny. It never has until now. A while ago, This was Beauty.

This is Marilyn Monroe. I have never been a HUGE fan but I can say this about her. She was considered they hottie with the body, the beauty girl, the eye candy, and she had it inside and out.
She had Curves and no surgery done to make her look like the cookie cutter girls we see today.
She had a bust that was natural not implanted.
She wore makeup, but not the overdone supermodel excessive thing we see today.
Inside she would have these beautiful sayings that were wonderful. Such as:

THIS is beauty also. Beautiful doesn't necessarily mean this

 (Shenae Grimes)

You ARE beautiful not matter what anyone tells you. You ARE powerful no matter what people say. You ARE intelligent, lovely, sweet, pretty, a wonderful lovely beautiful lady.

Believe in yourself, and others can then believe in you too.

Beauty is not defined by what we look like on the outside, or purely what we are on the inside. Beauty is defined by who we are collectively, inside and out , and what we choose to do with it.

Mommy Reminders

There ARE days you need to just sit down, while your child is sleeping or preoccupied, and just go through your mind all the reasons why you are a good mother. A good person. Worth it all. Deserve Respect. Deserve to be loved. Beautiful. And then remember this- YOU ARE ALL OF THOSE...AND SO MUCH MORE!!!

Your child(ren) and God think all of that and more of you! Believe it yourself and you are just filling yourself with the self esteem you need! You have all the strength you need right inside of you. You can do anything you put your mind too.

You are a mom.

And you are powerful.

Being a Mom Means...

Its days like these that hit me and make me take a minute, sit, smile, and be SO happy to be a mumma.
Love and be so proud of my son.
Ponder on what he may became in his life.
Cry thinking of that and how it means he will grow up.
Wipe my tears and know he will ALWAYS be my baby.
Then go back to the beginning again and think on how happy life can be when your a mommy of a beautiful wonderful perfect little son.
Then go kiss my little baby boy while he sleeps peacefully in his bed. <3 <3
The mommy life is just such a rewarding one.

Knowing that even when he is 20 years old he will ALWAYS be my baby. He will graduate high school as my baby. Get married as my baby. And become a daddy and still be my baby...just with his own babies.

Being a mom means that you have someone waiting on you constantly. It means that you have someone there to pull at your leg and want to be picked up. It means you have someone that will never leave you. It means that you have someone that will depend on you for the many many years, and trust in you with every part of them, JUST because your name is Mommy. It means that you are responsible for teaching life skills, abc's, manners, walking, talking, and everything in between so your child grows to be a beautiful person inside and out. It means that you have created and given birth to a miracle. Your own little person. Your own child. It means you have become the WORLD to a certain little person. And the love between you two will never be broken. It means you are a superhero. It means you are irreplaceable. Being a mom means...your a 'mom'.

Cutey Baby Cloth Diapers:Personal Review

I recently decided to switch to cloth diapers and wanted to do some research before deciding on which ones to buy because I didn't want to waste money. (Cloth diapers can very very costly! But its a one time buy unlike disposables and very worth it!)

I started really liking the 'Cutey Baby' That's A Wrap Cloth Diapers. I went to the website, watched THEIR review (my mistake, not a customers review, the manufacturer review) But I LOVED them. And the first thing that sold me were the prints. Every mom loves an adorable print on their baby's lil butt. However, that is just a big selling technique I came to find. Here's what I learned after my first try, and then 3 other times trying, to see if I could MAKE cutey Baby work for me since I loved the prints.

(back)
(front)

Kent seemed to fit pretty well into the diaper. But I came to find that the elastic leg band fit right, but it leaked BAD! He pooped not even 5 minutes into wearing the diaper I had put on him and it leaked right through the sides. It Soaked through the inside soaker pad, through the diaper, out the waistband, and through the side of what was supposed to be a waterproof outer layer. And this wasn't diarrhea. He's only 4 months old so it isn't 100% solid poop yet, but it wasn't runny like diarrhea. His poop for his age group just couldn't hold.

Inside of Diaper- Whole to insert soaker pad (as shown), elastic band on side (scrunchy look)

I thought it may have been because I put it on wrong, so I tried again and watched the video from Cuteybaby.com . But Alas, the pee diaper did the same. Mind you, I don't change Kent every 30 minutes. But I don't wait 4 hours either. At MOST I wait around 2 1/2 hours.

Both Pee and poop diapers leaked through soaker pad, waterproof outerlayer, and Kent's clothes.

Another issue I had was the velcro. Other brands offer snap, diapers which is what seems to work best for a LOT of moms when I asked around my church moms group. We all had the same issue. The babies were able to rip off the velcro themselves. Kent at only 4 months old, the second I put the diaper on, he ripped the velcro. Involuntarily even. So if he was older, he could voluntarily rip the velcro. (problem!) (Snaps, with other brands, fixed that for me immediately). The Velcro is able to detach so there isn't a string of attached diapers in the washer and dryer, but the That's A Wrap diapers don't offer that. The wrap diapers velcro folds down and are supposed to still stay safe in the laundry, but it did not with me.

BELOW (soaker pad- sewn at ends, 2 layers thick)

It is not a pocket diaper like most other Cloth Diapers out there offer. But it did surprise me that the soaker pad did not scrunch up to one end, especially when he was laying in his belly. But even though that didn't happen, leaking through made me forget about that.

Even though I attempted and it had failed twice, I tried it one night anyway. It didn't hold at all. Big mess. Overnight does not work for Cutey Baby That's A Wrap diapers.

Overall, here is what I came to find:

Pro's:
- ADORABLE prints are available that many other brands do not offer.
- The Soaker Pads are double layered and work nice (for me in other brands of cloth diapers).
- Velcro on regular Cutey Baby's (Not 'That's A Wrap') detach for easy washing.
- For it not being a pocket diaper, the soaker pad doesn't scrunch up to one end like I thought it would.

Con's:
- Waterproof outer layer leaks. (Pee and Poop both do not hold well)
- Velcro on That's A Wrap Diapers do NOT detach and causes a a diaper string in the wash.
- Velcro is the only closing offered, no snaps or any other kind, which is easily detached by babies of any grasping age.
- Overnight does not hold. (Barely holds for an hour with a medium pee-er)
- Bulkier than other brands

That's how they worked for me. Needless to say Cutey Baby didn't quite win me over.
